Trilateration with a Difference
Solved After thinking about it for a little while I solved the problem using ratios and a little maths, see the equations below and the attached images for more details. Thanks for your suggestions. L1=M2x-M1x ∴700cm-50cm=650cm xt=((L1/(Luminosity_1+Luminosity_2)×Luminosity_2)+M1x)...- Sparkypedia

Trilateration with a Difference
If anyone has any ideas for the algorithms them selves it would be very helpful. My method as described above only works with isosceles triangles and to be honest its a bit haphazard.- Sparkypedia

Trilateration with a Difference
Fair enough, I thought I might not get away with putting it here ;) You have good understanding of the setup, I had not considered the issue of the direction of the torch. This does not need to be pinpoint accuracy though, I just want to have a rough idea of the persons position. Thanks- Sparkypedia

Trilateration with a Difference
Good Evening all, Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Alex and I am in the final stages of an Electronic Engineering degree. This is not directly 'homework'. It will take me a little while to set the scene so feel free to get a cup of tea! One of my modules (Wireless Sensor...- Sparkypedia

Embeeded RPM sensor calculation programming assistance
Hi i am doing a side project of displaying RPM speed on the Altera development board DE0 which i have running at 10MHZ. i have got a digital input from a hall effect sensor that has a frequency range from 1.6 to 166.6 Hz. the signal incoming has a duty cycle of 50% to calculate the...- Sparkypedia

LED project power supplies in parallel?
I am assuming you were planning on putting the LED's in series from the source, why not place them in parallel to each other, and provide each with a current limiting resistor? thus negating the issue of varying current levels.- Sparkypedia

Mechancial Spring, Transfer question, not quite adding up
indeed i was thank you for that...its stupid i am happy with laplace, transfer functions, matrix, itegration, differentiation but simple algebra is my downfall!- Sparkypedia

Mechancial Spring, Transfer question, not quite adding up
Hello everyone, below I have placed an image of the question, I am quite happy with the theory. My issue is how it goes from being F(s) = KX(s) to X/F(s) = 1/K I know to change this into a transfer function it is output (X) over input (F). However when ever I try i always end up with it...- Sparkypedia

DC Electric Motor Tourque/Power Usage
Thats fantastic! really helped a lot, thank you very much! This is the first time I have used this forum, very impressed. I was wondering how to HorsePower compares to Power in watts, and you have answered that before I even asked. Cheers mate- Sparkypedia

DC Electric Motor Tourque/Power Usage
This is where I show how little I know about such things, I thought the static coefficient was the force the robot had to overcome to change from being stationary to in motion. I presumed there would various other variables that would effect speed such as air-resistance etc. Honestly I know...- Sparkypedia
