Inductor Impedance vs Inductive Reactance: Clarification Needed

Hello, i just want to clarify, is there a difference between the inductor impedance or inductive reactance XL. inductive reactance XL = 2pi*fL is this the same for inductor impedance? i see on an example where they ask you to calculate the reactance in a series RL circuit. V= 100, f=...

Calculating error in gradient of a graph

Hello , i would like to know how do you calculate the error in the gradient of a graph when all the points fall on the line or is so close to the line to draw the maximum and minimum slope and using it in the general formula is not applicable. error in gradient = ±(max.slope- min slope) /2√N...

Using Graph to determine constants in equation

Hello, i have the equation F= x + kx^n I am trying to determine the constants k and n? where i have the ranges for F and x is what i am doing correct? log F= logx + logk+ nlogx log F= logx(1+n) + logk ok i would then plot logF vs Log x. if i am correct logk = y intercept and...

Solving Velocity & Angle of Proton After Glancing Collision

    ok this is what i did, resolving x component V1= 6.0X 10^5 cos40 = 4.5 V2= -4.6x 10^5 sin40 =-3 therefore velocity of other proton in unit vector form = (4.5 x10^5i -3 X 10^5j) angle between them is tan (inv) -3/4.5 = 33 degrees. is this correct?

Solving Velocity & Angle of Proton After Glancing Collision

more on the basis of elastic collisions. i know that the momentum in x direction is equal to the momentum in the y but i am not given a mass? but i suppose it cancels out. here is a diagram. [PLAIN]http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/9633/vectord.jpg

Solving Velocity & Angle of Proton After Glancing Collision

can someone please demonstrate how a question such as this is solved. A proton traveling with a velocity 6.0 × 105 m/s i makes a glancing collision with a second proton at rest. One of the protons is observed after the collision to be moving with a velocity V1 = 4.6 x 105 m/s at a 40...

Solve Vector Dynamics Problems with Initial and Final Velocity | 100 s

Homework Statement An air craft has an initial velocity of 90(i+ j)ms-1and a final velocity of 10(10i + 10j +3k) ms-1. The time taken for this change to occur is 100 s. Determine the: a)average velocity for the 100 s period. b)average speed for the period. c)constant acceleration of the...
