If you multiply the tile sides by c you will get the frequency of the radiation.jtbell said:

I laughed out loud when I read that.dextercioby said:
That said, the joke might be technically improved a bit by using one of the heavier noble gases, maybe xenon or radon. Something heavier than iron anyway. Splitting helium into its constituent parts (presumably hydrogen, deuterium and/or tritium) would take more energy than it would give, i.e., no exothermic reaction (certainly no explosion).

I came up with this. The prompt is legit - someone actually said this (albeit not Billy). Trying to workshop it into a meme but so far I just have the text.
Billy: "Dad, I'm taking my scope out to see if I can image Capella."
Dad: If you want a capella you have to do it without instruments. WITHOUT INSTRUMENTS, BILLY."
It's a work-in-progress.

Yep, because the Hubble photo looks as much like a Shai-Hulud (sandworm) as it does a Doomsday Machine.davenn said:nope :) Dune was a separate Sci Fi movie

Translation from this Swedish guy, if needed
Fartkontrol = Speed check/speed surveillance
Max Fart = Max speed
Farthinder = Speed bump

That fits with what I had figured, since Swedish 'fart' is obviously cognate to the German noun 'Fahrt', from the verb 'fahren' "to go (by vehicle)".
But the cross-language pun with the English 'fart' was too tempting to pass up.
This reminds me of a long-ago visit to Turku / Åbo, Finland, where I saw a boat docked along the river, bearing the name (?) FART on its bow. I have a photo of it somewhere.
