AI Thread Summary
Thread ratings are calculated as the average number of stars given by select members, including mentors and admins. Contributors no longer have the ability to rate threads, as this feature was disabled due to low usage. The original intent was to provide a rating system similar to movie ratings, but it has proven to be ineffective. Users are considering removing the rating label altogether. The discussion highlights the challenges of maintaining an engaging rating system.

Could anyone please tell me what is the rating of a thread? How is it calculated?

It is like a movie rating, but only certain members (I think contributers and mentors/admin) can give a rating to a thread. For calculation it is just the average number of stars.

edit... Actually, it looks like contributors can't give ratings anymore

Ratings were disabled a bit ago, not very useful, wasn't used much. Suppose I should take the label off.

Thanks to both of you for replying.
