Schools University of Toronto admissions average

AI Thread Summary
An applicant with an 83 average in grade 11 and a 70 in physics is concerned about how these grades will affect their chances of acceptance into the Mathematics and Physics program at the University of Toronto (UofT). They currently have a 92 in grade 12 physics and a 90 overall average in grade twelve. The discussion indicates that while grade eleven marks are considered for early admissions, they are less significant in the final evaluation. UofT values consistency in academic performance, and significant improvement in grade twelve could be viewed positively. Admission averages for UofT typically range from the low 80s to 100, with a mean of 83%-87%. Examples of successful admissions with lower grades suggest that grade eleven performance may not heavily impact acceptance decisions.

I had an 83 average in grade 11
A 70 in physics
I applied for mathematics and physics at UofT
I currently have a 92 in my grade 12 physics course, and a 90 average overall in grade twelve
I am wondering if grade eleven will reduce my chances of getting accepted

It probably would, depending on the applications they get. On the plus side, UFT will also be keen to know that you made such progress in one year, but on the down side, they might think you were just doing it for college. They are looking for some consistancy. Hopefully your other credentials are impressive? :]

I really doubt that they're going to care about your grade eleven grades.

They won't, grade 11 marks are only used for early admissions. The admission averages I believe are from low 80s to 100 with a mean of 83%-87%. I know someone who got into the Medical Science program with an 81% and that is more difficult then the A&S program.

Currently I have finished addition ,substraction of 2 digit numbers and divisions, multiplication of 1 digit numbers. I am moving pretty slowly. Thanks for the help in advance. (I also...
guys i am currently studying in computer science engineering [1st yr]. i was intrested in physics when i was in high school. due to some circumstances i chose computer science engineering degree. so i want to incoporate computer science engineering with physics and i came across computational physics. i am intrested studying it but i dont know where to start. can you guys reccomend me some yt channels or some free courses or some other way to learn the computational physics.
I'm going to make this one quick since I have little time. Background: Throughout my life I have always done good in Math. I almost always received 90%+, and received easily upwards of 95% when I took normal-level HS Math courses. When I took Grade 9 "De-Streamed" Math (All students must take "De-Streamed" in Canada), I initially had 98% until I got very sick and my mark had dropped to 95%. The Physics teachers and Math teachers talked about me as if I were some sort of genius. Then, an...
