A movie about AI and physics!?

I couple of days ago, I watched a sci-fi animation short film titled Salya The First AGI which was introduced to me by my friend.
It was more scientific that most of the scifi movies I've ever seen and at the same time more surreal than most surreal movies I've watched. Something like a combination of Matrix , Aladedin and Salvatore Dali paintings.
It bring this question to my mind that whether AI can find new physical laws or change the existing laws of physic? It sounds so ambitions but interestingly in the movie the AI was planning for this!

Besides I'm interested to know whether there is any books about this topic?

Because that's what only a god can do and as many AI expert and tech giants such as Elon have mentioned, they are trying to create a digital god!
The movie made me think about whether AI could gain godly powers to change the laws of physics.
Until three years ago I could never even imagine that we could chat with our computers in three years!
After that I think the tech is growing faster than my imagination.

The concept of AGI and the ( supposed ) encroaching AI singularity has been debated ad nauseam.
Whether there is such a thing as an AI singularity, whether it would occur over a duration or point in time, the impact of an intelligence greater than human, and bottlenecks hindering explosive recursive AGI self improvement are all speculative.

The tech is growing faster than most peoples imagination, but in turn imagination can grow faster than tech, as seen in all the ( sci-fi ) fantasies that can be dreamed up but never realized, as either being impractical or just actually impossible, for one reason or another including the restraints of the economic system humans live under, as well as the physical restraints of nature.

The movie Lucy has the same theme as super-intelligence being god-like with some Matrix and stuff from some others thrown in. Since the protagonist is a human female, emphasis on human, the audience contemplates, but still sees the fantasy of 'using the human brain to its full potential'. The same should be given to movies about AGI, and not pedestalled as of being more sincere. Pretty much all gods have vanished through out history at one time or another. The proposed AGI god ( and quite a few thinkers propose it as such in a round about way ) would be the first where its existence supersedes that of its followers.

Speculation. As to how the universe completes itself is open to scientific study and observation.

Because that's what only a god can do

Up to the early 1900's it was thought that the universe was completely deterministic, with an absolute time and space. Quantum mechanics, the theories of special and general relativity upended what was considered to be the laws of physics at the time. No god needed.

If that specifically is what you mean by

whether AI can find new physical laws or change the existing laws of physic

then I don't see why not that a capable AGI couldn't explore and possibly change the manner by which by which nature is modeled, and add to the knowledge base.

If you are thinking magic, as per @phinds and @BillTre have questioned, then the Tooth Fairy and Leprechauns with a pot of gold are just as equally likely. We don't seem to have any of them around, except in imagination.
