Not sure about Windows, but Ubuntu has it's own built in spell check that runs on all text fields I type in.

It still amuses me that it flags up Ubuntu as spelt incorrectly.
 
I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha.
