Can I get a spin 1/2 particle to deflect with the aharonov bohm effect.
Where the B field is zero but A is not? Or will it just change the phase in the state-vector?
can I get the spin up particles to go one way and the spin down particles to go another way.

The AB effect acts on charged particles but is independent of spin.
For particles with spin there is an analogous deflection in electric fields, the Aharonov-Casher effect.

it seems that if it affects charged particles that it would also affect spin, because spin is affected by a B field.
thanks for your post

But not all particles having spin are charged. Stern and Gerlach were using neutral silver atoms in their experiment.

ok I see your point.
Thats interesting that it only acts on charged particles.
So if I shot silver atoms by a solenoid I would not observe the AB-effect.

Not an expert in QM. AFAIK, Schrödinger's equation is quite different from the classical wave equation. The former is an equation for the dynamics of the state of a (quantum?) system, the latter is an equation for the dynamics of a (classical) degree of freedom. As a matter of fact, Schrödinger's equation is first order in time derivatives, while the classical wave equation is second order. But, AFAIK, Schrödinger's equation is a wave equation; only its interpretation makes it non-classical...

Is it possible, and fruitful, to use certain conceptual and technical tools from effective field theory (coarse-graining/integrating-out, power-counting, matching, RG) to think about the relationship between the fundamental (quantum) and the emergent (classical), both to account for the quasi-autonomy of the classical level and to quantify residual quantum corrections? By “emergent,” I mean the following: after integrating out fast/irrelevant quantum degrees of freedom (high-energy modes...
