Hi Guys,

I would like to analyze the movement of a soccer ball when taking a freekick.how can we predict the ball position at a time dt when ball have a particular velocity and swing?

Please share your thoughts!

Thanks in advance

You might want to be more specific in your question. What angle are you kicking the ball at wrt the ground? What's the initial velocity of the ball? Are we ignoring air friction? How high is the ball when it's initially kicked?

Assuming no airfriction, you should start with the acceleration. There's no acceleration in the x direction, and in the y direction, we have an acceleration of -9.8 meters per second squared (assuming the ball is on earth). So you can set up the first vector:

a = <0,-9.8>

What do you think you have to do to get velocity? Position?

Thanks for replying.

I'm applying a force vector <110 ,250,810>.And also applying an impulse force to swing <3,0,0>.
