In my class my professor used the wavefunction <r|jjjj> when discussing the hydrogen atom.

Does anyone know what this refers to, or just describe it briefly so I could find search for some resources online.

Thanks in advance!

Are you just confused with the notaion <r|j> or what? Now that notation, it is called Dirac notation. But WHY you have <r|jjjj> i don't know, there are many ways to label things as you know and you should ask your professor about this.
