AI Thread Summary
AllZip is being discussed as a potential alternative to established compression tools like WinRAR and WinZip. While some users find AllZip visually appealing, they express skepticism about its necessity, noting that WinRAR effectively meets all their compression needs. WinRAR is praised for its longevity, versatility, and superior compression capabilities. Additionally, there is support for using tar.gz formats among users who prefer traditional methods. Overall, the consensus leans towards sticking with proven tools like WinRAR and WinZip rather than adopting AllZip.
