SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the nature of photons and their relationship with the electromagnetic field, clarifying that photons do not require a physical medium to propagate. Participants assert that light travels through a vacuum, supported by Maxwell's equations, and that the electromagnetic field serves as the medium for light transmission. The conversation emphasizes that photons are not particles with mass but rather manifestations of electromagnetic waves. Misconceptions regarding the need for a material medium, such as the luminiferous aether, are addressed and debunked.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of electromagnetic fields and their properties
  • Familiarity with Maxwell's equations and their implications
  • Basic knowledge of quantum field theory concepts
  • Awareness of the historical context of the luminiferous aether theory
NEXT STEPS
  • Study Maxwell's equations in detail to understand electromagnetic wave propagation
  • Explore quantum field theory to grasp the nature of photons
  • Research the historical experiments that disproved the luminiferous aether theory
  • Investigate the implications of special relativity on the understanding of light
USEFUL FOR

Physicists, students of physics, and anyone interested in the fundamental principles of light and electromagnetic theory will benefit from this discussion.

It was an example of what, your inability to comprehend the scenario?

Zz.

There was no question in your post

Okey, so the medium is vacuum.

No. There is no medium.

What about sound waves? They operate in a lower frequency,

No. Sound waves are vibrations of a medium.

Yes, and the medium is particles in the air, water or more solid matter.

Vibrating is something that operates as a wave. The simplest form of wave is a sine(?)
Not all waves are vibrations and not all vibrations are waves. They are two different things that you are trying to mix up here.

At this point I am closing this thread. You seem to have some sort of weird “vibration” agenda. We are neither interested in helping you promote your agenda nor in the Sisyphean task of arguing about it. Please be aware that all posts must be consistent with the professional scientific literature.
