AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around a request for insights from real metaphysicians, with the original poster expressing a feeling of being an "unreal metaphysician" due to the predominance of Western cultural perspectives in metaphysical discussions. Participants engage in light-hearted banter, with humor about being banned from forums and references to alien abductions. The conversation shifts to playful commentary on language and grammar, including a mention of the book "Eats, Shoots and Leaves." There are also discussions about qualifications in metaphysics, with one participant joking about their academic background in metallurgy and physics, questioning if it qualifies them as a metaphysicist. The tone remains casual and humorous throughout, with a mix of serious inquiries and playful exchanges.

I'm an unreal metaphysician, real ones up tend to talk/write too much from a predominantly western cultural tradition.

What would you like an insight to ?

I would classify myself as mystic, which is pretty much the same thing. Have you had a chance to visit my forums?

Hello Iacchus32!
Say, if I were to join up on your forum and raise all kinds of hell would you be likely to ban me?
Thanks for any consideration,

I assume when you speak of being banned, you are not talking about having deodorant applied. BTW, why did you ban me from your website on true stories about UFOs kidnapping humans and making them deal cards at alien casinos? Seriously, that happened to me in '74.

All depends on what you mean. If it's for speaking your mind? No. Otherwise possibly censored, but probably not banned.

I've been reading a book called Eats, Shoots and Leaves and it offers a humorous look at punctuation and grammatical problems.

oh, dear, I am completely side-tracked now. What were we talking about? Aliens? Metaphysical websites?

[sidetrack]I borrowed 'E,S and L' from a friend, last week - umm...actually, I borrowed it when he wasn't looking. He "borrowed" it back the next day...and for some reason, he wasn't terribly excited about my wanting to improving my grammar and punctuation. [/sidetrack]

I have a degree in Metallurgy.
And now I'm getting a Physics degree.

Will this make me qualified in Metaphysics ?

Isn't the word metaphysicist? Unless you're asking if there are any faith-healers in here.

If I major in cognitive science I will first have to enter the program with "pre-major" status. During that period my major will technically be listed as Pre-cognitive Science. No joke!
(I must say I am looking forward to Miss Cleo's class! :-p )

Gokul, I always thought of you as a rocker bad-boy metal-physicist.
