Atmospheric Density Profiles of Europa and Mars

AI Thread Summary
Atmospheric density profile models for Europa, Enceladus, and Mars are essential for calculating meteorite impacts on their surfaces. Mars has a well-documented atmospheric profile, with numerous research papers available online. Europa's surface pressure is approximately 100 nPa, while Enceladus exhibits significant variability in its atmospheric conditions. For larger meteorites, the atmosphere of Enceladus can often be considered negligible. These insights are crucial for astrobiology research and impact analysis.

Hi all,

This is my first post. I am a fourth year undergrad doing a project on astrobiology. in order to do calculations of meteorite impact on the surfaces of europa, enceladus, and mars, i need their atmospheric density profile models. Any idea where i could find those?

thanks in advance.

"mars atmospheric profile" gives a lot of relevant google hits, including several papers about its atmosphere.
Europa has a surface pressure of ~100nPa (reference), on Enceladus it is very variable (see this and the following reference) - I would expect that you can neglect it for meteorites of significant size.

Now that they have shared their findings with the larger community someone else might find an explanation - or maybe it was actually made by life.
TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe. Is there any sense in this or is blissful ignorance better? In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation.
