AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on selecting advanced physics courses that balance fundamental concepts with practical mathematical applications. The individual is considering three courses: Theoretical Mechanics, Mathematical Physics, and Electromagnetism, and seeks advice on ranking them in terms of efficiency for achieving their educational goals. A request for detailed course descriptions from the university is made to facilitate better recommendations.

I mainly like physics due to it's applied nature and would like to take two or maybe 3 more course that both teach fundamental physics and delve deeper into mathematics that can be used outside of the immediate field.

My choices are:
Theorhetical Mechanics
Mathematical Physics
Electromagnetism

could someone rank them in order (1/2/3) that would accomplish this goal most efficiently?

Hey Mizt and welcome to the forums.

Do you by any chance have a link to detailed course descriptions (for example on the university website)? Having this would be helpful.

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
