SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on getting started with the basics of electrical engineering (EE). A recommended resource is a specific book discussed in a linked thread, which covers fundamental concepts such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors, and digital logic. This book serves as an excellent introduction to EE, making it suitable for beginners. Participants are encouraged to explore local technical or university libraries for access to this resource.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors
  • Familiarity with transistors and digital logic concepts
  • Access to a technical or university library for resource availability
  • Mathematical background relevant to electrical engineering principles
NEXT STEPS
  • Read the recommended book on electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Explore online resources and forums related to introductory electrical engineering topics
  • Investigate local library resources for additional EE textbooks and materials
  • Join study groups or online communities focused on electrical engineering basics
USEFUL FOR

Can anyone help me get started on the basics in electrical engineering or maybe sending me some of the threads that already exist in the forum that are related to the basics and introduction of EE.

Would be glad if someone helped, thnx!

Welcome to the PF. Have a look at the book we were discussing in this thread:

https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=178516

The thread is about some of the more involved concepts, but the book starts off with the basics of resistors, capacitors and inductors, and then the basics of transistors and digital logic. It's a great intro to EE, IMO, and makes for a pretty good read. Do you have a technical or university library nearby where you can look at a copy?
