Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around seeking suggestions for thesis topics in semiconductor physics, specifically focusing on areas such as doping and the mathematical physics of semiconductors. The scope includes undergraduate-level research ideas and potential applications.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant requests suggestions for thesis topics in semiconductor physics.
  • Another participant notes the vastness of the semiconductor field and asks for clarification on the requester’s level of studies.
  • The original poster identifies as an undergraduate interested in doping semiconductors and mentions a focus on gallium arsenide as advised by their adviser.
  • A participant suggests exploring the drift of carriers in electric and magnetic fields as a potential topic.
  • Another participant recommends referring to "Jacob Millman" for integrated electronics as a resource for semiconductor topics.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants have not reached a consensus on specific thesis topics, and multiple suggestions and areas of interest are presented without resolution.

Contextual Notes

The discussion lacks specific details on the mathematical or experimental frameworks that might be relevant to the proposed topics, and the suggestions depend on the individual interests of the requester.

hello there,
look semicoductor is a vast topic.
so please mention your level of studies, so that one can help you.

ok. I am an undergrad. I am interested in doping semicons. mathematical physics of semicons would also do. my adviser told me to focus on gallium arsenide. what then are good topics concerning doping gallium arsenide?

you can also make it on drift of carriers in electric and magnetic field...there are much more topics...this all about your interest n all. you can choose it from "Jacob Millman" for integrated electronics..i think this is a good book for semiconductors..
