AI Thread Summary
The discussion explores the hypothetical idea of using teleportation to access past resources or study a perfect ozone layer to address current environmental issues. It highlights that time travel is not currently feasible, making the concept of stealing resources from the past impractical. The conversation suggests that if alternate realities exist, one could simply travel to a utopian universe instead of resorting to theft. Ultimately, the focus remains on the distinction between teleportation and time travel, emphasizing that teleportation is a science fiction concept not applicable to the forum's purpose. The thread concludes with a lock, indicating no further discussion will occur.

Would it be possible to go back in time and steal valuable resources needed to run our world today and in the future? Would we be able to take equiptment and study a perfect Ozone layer so that we can repair ours?

As far as we know it is not possible to go back in time in any meaningful way.

Past resources and future resources are the same thing unless the world "branches" at every moment in some way that we're not aware of. But in that case everything that can happen has happened in some universe and you might as well just travel to the utopia universe rather than steal the resources.

Teleportation isn't time travel, but it is science fiction - and it isn't what this forum is form.

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
