AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on finding a high-temperature resistant coating for stainless steel loop handles on metal egg rings. Suggestions include looking for commercially available ceramic pastes with high R values that can withstand extreme heat. There is skepticism about the effectiveness of coatings, as they may still not prevent the handles from becoming too hot to touch. Alternatives such as using long pliers or replacing the stainless steel handles with a different material are also considered. The conversation emphasizes the need for practical solutions to manage heat during cooking.

I have these little metal rings used for holding eggs in while you fry them to keep them from running all over the place. These metal rings have stainless steel loop handles that stick up which get so hot as to be untouchable with unprotected fingers. I want to coat the top part of those stainless steel loop handles with some kind of material that is very resistant to changes in temperature. What commercially available product would fit the bill here?

Even if you coat those, I predict they'll still be too hot to touch. I'd try to find some kind of long pliers. Or perhaps replace the ss loop handles with another material.
