AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around the concerns of an author regarding the editorial process of a submitted physics paper. After a second revision, the author noted that while most comments were addressed satisfactorily, one point remained unresolved, leading to a change in the editor. Key questions raised include the reasons for the editor change, whether the review process restarts with the new editor, and if new referees will be involved. Responses indicate that editor changes can occur for various reasons unrelated to the paper, such as personal issues or professional transitions. It is suggested that the author reach out to the journal for clarification, as the new editor may or may not choose to restart the review process based on existing referee reports. Concerns about the one-month delay since the new editor took over are acknowledged but not deemed necessarily alarming.

Dear,

I have submitted a paper currently to one journal of physics. The first revision had 5 point. In the second revision four of them was answered satisfactory, but the point 5 was comented and add other two new coments. After this, the revision changed of editor.

What could be the reason of the change of editor?.
The processed starts from zero with the new editor?. Are new referees?
It is a ill signal that one month has passed from the new editor?.

Who are you addressing? And who are you calling "Dear"?

Why can't you write to the journal and ask?

Zz.

The change in editor could be due to anything really, including many reasons that have nothing to do with your paper... illness, editor stepping down, family emergency etc.

I would expect that the whole process won't start over since they already have referee reports, but the editors do run the show and so the new one does have that option. If it's really bothering you, as Zz suggested you can contact the journal.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
