Classical approach to claculate magnetic force

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the quest for a generalized equation to calculate the magnetic force of interaction between magnets and ferromagnetic materials, specifically iron. Participants reference the dyne, a unit of force in the CGS system, which equates to 10 microNewtons. The need for a comprehensive formula that encompasses both magnet-magnet and magnet-ferromagnetic interactions is emphasized, highlighting a gap in existing literature.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of magnetic force principles
  • Familiarity with units of force, specifically dyne and microNewton
  • Knowledge of ferromagnetic materials, particularly iron
  • Basic grasp of classical physics equations
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the derivation of magnetic force equations in classical physics
  • Explore the role of ferromagnetic materials in magnetic interactions
  • Study the differences between CGS and SI units in force measurement
  • Investigate existing models for magnet-magnet interactions
USEFUL FOR

Physicists, engineering students, and anyone interested in the principles of magnetism and magnetic force calculations.

Would it be possible to have a generalised equation for magnetic force of interaction between magnet-magnet and magnet-ferromagnetic materials maybe iron.

Got this off the net a minute ago. Perhaps it will help?

The dyne (symbol "dyn", from Greek δύναμις (dynamis) meaning power, force) is a unit of force specified in the centimetre-gram-second (CGS) system of units, a predecessor of the modern SI. One dyne is equal to 10 µN (microNewtons), or to 10 nsn (nanosthenes) in the old metre-tonne-second system of units.

I was asking about generalised equation for magnetic force of interaction
