SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the detection of spiked drinks, particularly focusing on the chemical reactions associated with common date rape drugs. Participants suggest starting research with terms like "date rape drugs" to find relevant information. The conversation highlights the complexity of the topic, indicating that multiple substances are involved, and emphasizes the need for a chemistry-based understanding rather than a purely design-focused approach.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of chemistry principles
  • Familiarity with common date rape drugs and their effects
  • Knowledge of anti-spiking detection methods
  • Research skills for navigating scientific literature
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the chemical properties of common date rape drugs
  • Learn about anti-spiking detection technologies and methods
  • Explore the legal implications of drug spiking and evidence collection
  • Investigate the psychological impact of drink spiking on victims
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for graphic designers working on projects related to public safety, law enforcement professionals, and anyone interested in the chemistry and detection of drug-facilitated crimes.

What research have you done so far? What have you found out?

Can't find anything related to the chemistry of it... I am not even sure I am using the right words when searching. I am a design student...

You could start with 'date rape drugs' in Google/wiki.

Unfortunately there is more than just one drug out there. You may get info on anti spiking that way.

It seems a bit of an odd subject for a graphics designer? More chemistry based?
Also it is not the sort of thing I would want on my search history if I was a student.

I feel sorry for people who have to live with Big Sister looking over their shoulder every second.

If you have nothing not hide you have nothing to hide. If some guy spiked my sister's drink then I hope the authorities look into his search history when he is arrested.
It is just part of the evidence.
