Do Women Prefer Taller Guys Over Better Looking Guys?

The discussion centers on the perception of height and attractiveness in relationships, particularly how women may prefer taller men over those who are more conventionally handsome. Participants share personal experiences, noting that while some women prioritize height, others value personality and self-confidence regardless of stature. There is a debate about the so-called "little man syndrome," with some arguing that short men can be just as secure and pleasant as taller men. Height is acknowledged as a factor in attraction, but many contributors emphasize that overall compatibility and personality traits are more significant. Ultimately, the consensus suggests that while height may influence attraction, it should not overshadow other important qualities in a partner.

I don't know if it's simply a lack of comprehension skills or pigheadedness. To repeat: my physical characteristics are none of anyone's business. How you extrapolate from my unwillingness to reveal my height, to a belief that I have trouble answering simple questions, is beyond me.

well, at this point, your height is irrelavant in helping me form an opinion of you

Well, of course! You haven't seen me, so you haven't had a chance to be unfair yet. :-p

since you won't reveal your height, and you seem to fly off the handle to my theory, the only thing i am left to do is assume you are short thus proving again to me my theory is correct in general. so am i really being unfair? :surprise:

I want to see the data that backs up such a claim.

Even for my mediocre mind, this is too easy:

Strike one: concluding that I am "fly[ing] off the handle" just because I won't reveal my height, and I disagree with your "theory" and find it insulting to short men. If you can't refute my response then that's no reason to mischaracterise it.

...the only thing i am left to do is assume you are short...

Strike two: just because I won't reveal my height and even if I am "fly[ing] off the handle", how can you use that as your sole basis for assuming I am short? You might as well just pluck your assumptions out of thin air. Is this how you concocted your "theory" about short men?

...thus proving again to me my theory is correct in general.

Strike three: even if I am short and I satisfy the predictions of your silly "theory", how does this prove "your theory is correct in general"? That's either highly arrogant or very naive. I would guess it's the latter, but I'm not sure. It's certainly unscientific. :-p

so am i really being unfair?

You're out! You are being very unfair, but you won't admit it or accept it. One of the earliest lessons one should learn in life is to doubt oneself. The more often the better. No one who learns this lesson would concoct a theory as ludicrous as yours and believe in it!

Cute analogy.

I think that Kerrie is just trying to play with you. I doubt that she is serious about her "theory".

I am sorry about that. I am having a problem in that once I write a post, I cannot cancel it, because somehow it always seems to be sent anyway. I do not know how to stop it.

 yes, isn't he taking this a little too serious?
I thought that he was trying hard, and was making good arguments. However, I think that he is more serious than you were, and that perhaps he should save his otherwise interesting arguments for a more serious thread.

Sorry again.

Frankly, I couldn't care less how seriously Kerrie or others treat the very important topic of discrimination based on physical attributes. I've made my points, and had a little fun as well, so I'm quite pleased with the progress of this thread.
