AI Thread Summary
Dr. Douglas Graham advocates for the 80/10/10 diet, which consists of 80% of calories from sweet fruits, 10% from protein, and 10% from fat. The discussion questions his credibility, labeling him either a crackpot or a charlatan. Critics argue that such a high percentage of sugary fruits is not aligned with established dietary guidelines, which suggest a more balanced approach: 10-35% protein, 20-35% fat, and 45-65% carbohydrates. The conversation highlights skepticism towards unconventional diets and emphasizes the importance of adhering to recognized nutritional standards.

I have never yet encountered ANYONE promoting a diet who was not either a crackpot (they believe what they are saying) or a charlatan (they believe they can make money by saying it).

Here are the current guidelines to a balanced diet. I can't imagine that 80% of sugary fruit would be wise.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/healthy-diet/NU00200 The percentages vary depending on age, activity, etc...

The recommendation is

Protein: 10-35%

Fat: 20-35%

Carbohydrates: 45-65%

This thread is my attempt to understanding the evidence that Natural Selection in the human genome was recent and regional. On Page 103 of A Troublesome Inheritance, Wade writes the following: "The regional nature of selection was first made evident in a genomewide scan undertaken by Jonathan Pritchard, a population geneticist at the...
