Electric Circuits problem - Superposition

SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on solving an electric circuits problem using the superposition principle. The user initially calculated the output voltage (Vo) as 10V by summing the results from two independent sources: a 30V voltage source and a 6A current source. However, the correct final values are Vo = 17.99V and Io = 1.799A. The conversation emphasizes the importance of detailed calculations when applying the superposition theorem in nodal analysis.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of the Superposition Theorem in circuit analysis
  • Familiarity with Nodal Analysis techniques
  • Basic knowledge of voltage and current sources
  • Ability to perform circuit calculations accurately
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the Superposition Theorem in-depth for circuit analysis
  • Practice Nodal Analysis with various circuit configurations
  • Review detailed examples of voltage and current source interactions
  • Explore common mistakes in circuit calculations and how to avoid them

Homework Statement

The problemas statement is:
"Find Vo and Io by the superposition principle"

Homework Equations

Nodal Analysis and The Superposition Theorem.

The Attempt at a Solution

So, I tried to shutdown first the independent 30V tension font. It led me to Vo = 8V.
Then, turning off the 6A current font, led me to Vo = 2V.
So the final Vo will be equation the sum of the two others: 10V.

The correct anwser is 17,99V(so, Io = 1,799A).
Thank you!

You'll have to show some more details about your attempt, particularly the part concerning the 6 A source operating alone (that is, when the 30 V source is suppressed). Show your work.
