Energy from permanent magnets alone

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on claims by individuals like Howard Johnson and Tom Beardson regarding the invention of motors powered solely by the energy of permanent magnets. There is skepticism about the validity of these claims, with doubts raised about why such technology hasn't been widely adopted if it truly exists. Participants express concerns that these ideas may be more speculative than practical, labeling some proponents as "crackpots." The overarching sentiment suggests that if these inventions were viable, they would already be transforming the energy sector. Overall, the conversation highlights a mix of curiosity and skepticism regarding the feasibility of magnet-based energy solutions.

Hi all,

i saw many times while browsing that persons like howard johnson, tom beardson, paul monus, etc., are informing themselves that they have invented motors that run only based on the stored energy of the permanent magnets... are they really having that machines..? if yes, i think that it will definatly revoltunize the energy sector of the world..? why don't they make "BIG" business out of it.?
ARE THEY REALLY HAVING THAT..?

Crackpots are crackpots and I think your instincts are telling you that if their ideas worked, we'd already all be using their devices.

Thread 'Motional EMF in Faraday disc, co-rotating magnet axial mean flux'
So here is the motional EMF formula. Now I understand the standard Faraday paradox that an axis symmetric field source (like a speaker motor ring magnet) has a magnetic field that is frame invariant under rotation around axis of symmetry. The field is static whether you rotate the magnet or not. So far so good. What puzzles me is this , there is a term average magnetic flux or "azimuthal mean" , this term describes the average magnetic field through the area swept by the rotating Faraday...
