Recovering a Deleted Post: Is it Possible?

AI Thread Summary
Recovering a deleted post from a forum can be challenging, especially if the content was not inappropriate. In this case, a user sought a link to Landau's Foundations of Analysis from a deleted post but could not retrieve it. They reported the issue to moderators but received no response, leading to frustration. Suggestions included checking the browser's history for cached information. Ultimately, retrieving deleted posts may depend on the forum's policies and the availability of cached data.

[Solved]Get a deleted post back?

There was a post in https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=489745 that contained a link to a book I was going to buy but it was deleted before I saved the link. I can't remember the name of the book or the user. Is there anyway I could get that link and, at the discretion of the moderator, the username of the post-er, so as to thank him/her?

I reported the thread, with a description of my problem, but have received no reponse. I'm assuming they didn't like the fact I reported a post that wasn't inappropriate.

It was Landau's Foundations of Analysis. Thanks.

The member deleted his post, it was not a mentor.

I assumed so, seeing as it was on topic and not inappropriate. I just don't understand why...

Maybe it's still in your cache (if you can identify it from your browser's "History")?
