AI Thread Summary
To gain admission to MIT, applicants need to be aware of the selective nature of the process. For those who have just completed 12th grade, applications should ideally be submitted in the fall prior to graduation, but late applications are still accepted. Key requirements include taking the SAT I and two SAT II subject tests, typically in Mathematics and a science subject. For international students, such as those from India, the SAT II tests are generally manageable, especially if they are already preparing for the JEE. The discussion highlights the importance of thorough research on MIT's admissions process, which can be found on their official website.

Where are you located? In the US, if you just finished 12th grade, you should have applied last fall. You can still apply this fall though, and you will be considered for entry in the fall of 2012. The site looks like it has everything you need to know. Just remember that admission is very selective and sometimes even the brightest students don't get in.

Thank you so much for replying me.I am frm India. Is there any test ?

There is no insane entrance exam to take. Just the SAT I and two SAT II tests. The SAT II subject tests should be in Maths and in another science subject. I suspect you're doing the JEE as well, in which case, the SAT II tests shouldn't be very hard for you.

On another note...an 18 y/o with an undergrad master's degree wishing to go to MIT...

Currently I have finished addition ,substraction of 2 digit numbers and divisions, multiplication of 1 digit numbers. I am moving pretty slowly. Can someone tell me what topics to cover first to build a framework and then go on in detail. I want to learn fast. It has taken me a year now learning arithmetic. I want to speed up. Thanks for the help in advance. (I also...
I'm going to make this one quick since I have little time. Background: Throughout my life I have always done good in Math. I almost always received 90%+, and received easily upwards of 95% when I took normal-level HS Math courses. When I took Grade 9 "De-Streamed" Math (All students must take "De-Streamed" in Canada), I initially had 98% until I got very sick and my mark had dropped to 95%. The Physics teachers and Math teachers talked about me as if I were some sort of genius. Then, an...
