Just finished watching the movie.

Absolutely stupefying. For the first time in my life, i feel almost in complete speechlessness.

Its deep, philosophical tone; its variety of messages communicated, after which the thunderous apex in the background music just erupts in the face of the viewer. The harmony of music with the script; its extreme maturity, beauty, intellect, and most of all suspense.

Perfect portrayal of the fight between the two complimentary sides of the human being.

One negative is some of the choices in the casting. Other than that, perfect.

I've seen most of that movie, but I ended up falling asleep. Not that it's a bad movie, it's really good and interesting, I was just really tired.

Some parts of the movie do tend to be sort of monotonous, but the swimming scene near the end of the movie is absolutely incredible work.

I think he's talking about when the guy out swims his brother...no sex there...

I liked the movie, one of my favorites. Of course any movie centered around the power of a determined individual who doesn't rely on a liberal government to pay his way is bound to score points with me. :wink:

I saw several allussions to Christianity in the film as well. Did anyone notice anything off great interest?
 
I cried at the end. :cry: I only saw it recently for the first time. It was playing late at night on WB one weekend.

I too really liked this film.

As for relating to Christianity, can you explain what you mean? I just don't see it.

Several times, there's small hints to crucifixion (such as him lying on the floor with his legs almost together and his arms spread [happens twice or more]). There is also a scene with the actual crucifix.

I think i am only speechless become i think of myself as a very critical thinker. I not only watch movies, but i deconstruct them.

I was attempting to excise that part which blamed it only on a specific type of government (in this case; liberal) as I’m inclined to believe it could have easily happened under other types as well. I didn't see the need to narrow it so, in other words.
I saw several allussions to Christianity in the film as well. Did anyone notice anything off great interest?
I don't recall the details of that film but if I took a guess and said it would have likely portrayed Christianity negatively would I be correct?

I think it portrayed Christianity positively. The entire movie shows the power of the human will, and the sacrafice [like Jesus] which he endured to prosper in his life.

My favourite movie...

I love the message. A single guy going against established order to achieve his dream... and yet for all his merit, he didn't make it alone. The doctor figured him out, as did the mission director. And the police. But they let him be, because they realize that it could be them at the wrong side of the genetic divide.

What do you mean by bad casting choices? The cast is simply superb!
