Sending Probes to Proxima Centauri: What's the Latest News?

In summary, the latest news on sending probes to Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our solar system, is that scientists have developed new technologies that could potentially make the journey possible. These include advancements in propulsion systems, communication methods, and radiation shielding. There are also ongoing discussions about which type of probe would be most suitable for the mission, with some advocating for a small, lightweight nanocraft and others proposing a larger, more robust spacecraft. While there are still many challenges to overcome, the prospect of exploring Proxima Centauri and its possibly habitable planet, Proxima b, is becoming increasingly feasible.

I'm a bus driver and I happened into this forum when I was looking for information about the recent plans to send little bitty space probes to the nearby star Proxima Centauri or however you spell it.
