AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around a student's difficulties with an AC circuit assignment, specifically regarding calculations that yield unexpectedly small results. The student questions whether the voltage across a 6k resistor should be included in their calculations and expresses uncertainty about their approach to calculating apparent power over a dependent source. They have shared their work in attached documents and seek feedback on their methodology and any potential errors. The overall concern is ensuring that the calculations align with the principles of AC circuit analysis. Clarification on these points is needed for accurate completion of the assignment.

Homework Statement

Hi i tried this problem i attached(jpg one) but i don't think i am doing it right as I am getting a really small number
and also would how would you calculate the apparent power over dependant source because i don't think i did that right either

Homework Equations

The Attempt at a Solution

First page, first expression. Shouldn't Vx include the potential across the 6k resistor?

umm should it? i got it from the teacher but i think he didnt really look at it properly so yea not really sure

how does the rest of the stuff look?
