SUMMARY

The discussion centers on solving an AC circuit assignment, specifically regarding the calculation of apparent power over a dependent source. The user expresses confusion about their results, which yield unexpectedly small values, and questions whether the voltage across a 6k resistor should be included in their calculations. The user has provided their attempts in attached PDFs for review, seeking clarification on their methodology and correctness of their expressions.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of AC circuit analysis
  • Familiarity with dependent sources in electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of calculating apparent power in AC circuits
  • Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and equations
NEXT STEPS
  • Review the principles of AC circuit analysis, focusing on dependent sources
  • Study the calculation methods for apparent power in AC circuits
  • Learn how to analyze voltage drops across resistors in AC circuits
  • Practice solving similar AC circuit problems using provided examples
USEFUL FOR

Students studying electrical engineering, particularly those working on AC circuit assignments, as well as educators looking for insights into common student misconceptions regarding circuit analysis.

Homework Statement

Hi i tried this problem i attached(jpg one) but i don't think i am doing it right as I am getting a really small number
and also would how would you calculate the apparent power over dependent source because i don't think i did that right either

Homework Equations

The Attempt at a Solution

i attached my attempt in the two pdfs for the first 5 questions, can you please look at what i am doing wrong

First page, first expression. Shouldn't Vx include the potential across the 6k resistor?

umm should it? i got it from the teacher but i think he didnt really look at it properly so yea not really sure

how does the rest of the stuff look?
