AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the phenomenon of "incorruptibles," preserved bodies that have been found since the early centuries after Christ. These bodies do not fit into the categories of accidental or deliberate preservation and remain free of decomposition despite various environmental factors that typically cause decay. The preservation of these bodies has puzzled scientists, as they defy explanation through known scientific principles. It is noted that all identified incorruptibles have been devout Catholics, which raises questions about the intersection of faith and science. The conversation also touches on the need for credible scientific evidence to verify the existence of these preserved bodies, with a call for references to reopen the discussion. The thread has been locked pending moderation due to concerns about the credibility of the sources cited.

These type of preserved bodies started being discovered back in the early centuries after Christ, though surprisingly, they do not fall into either the accidental or deliberate preservation categories above. The causes for "incorruptibles" remaining free of decomposition have baffled scientists to this day. These bodies are discovered in many different environments, including environments that would typically cause an accidental or deliberately preserved corpse to decompose rapidly. They remain free of decay regardless of manner of burial, delay in burial, temperature, moisture, rough handling, frequent transference, having been covered in quicklime (a decaying agent), or proximity to other decaying corpses. They cannot be explained by science or reason.

So what's up with them?

You mean aside from their apparently being religious crackpots?

From your link:
"What is most astounding of all is the fact that for each incorrupt body discovered, after research has been done to determine who the person was, it has always been determined that the person was an extremely devout Catholic."

Sadly they have other pages:

"The Theory of Evolution Disproved"

I know the website is bull, but I'm interested in how the body stops from completely rotting when it actually does.

Thanks Cristo. Yes, we would need scientific evidence that these allegedly preserved bodies are in fact real bodies. If anyone has a credible, scientific reference showing that at least one of these "preserved bodies" has been verified as real, please sent it to me by PM and we can open the thread again.

Every day we learn new things. Sometimes it's just a small fact or realization. No matter how trivial or random, let's start recording our daily lessons. Please start off with "Today I learned". Keep commentary to a minimum and just LIKE posts. I'll start! Today I learned that you clean up a white hat by spraying some cleaner with bleach on it (rinse before putting it back on your head!)
