AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on whether a Yamaha 440 snowmobile engine can support a total load of 130 pounds, consisting of an 85-pound engine, a 45-pound deck, and the operator. Participants emphasize the importance of selecting a propeller that provides maximum thrust, suggesting hovercraft-specific options available online. The horsepower of the Yamaha engine is clarified to be 50 HP, which raises questions about the overall design and dimensions of the hovercraft. Additional details about the construction materials, including a plywood deck and fiberglass-covered foam, are shared. The conversation encourages further exploration of the hovercraft's specifications and performance calculations.

Hmm. Don't know. I think you need to research the prop you'll use. You want to get one with as much thrust as possible. They sell hovercraft specific ones online, for like $100-200.

I've had a plan for a few years of making one using a plywood deck, lawnmower engine and (very) large innertube. Keep me posted on your progress. Perhaps you could more fully explain your plans.

It depends on the HP of the Yamaha engine? Is that the 4 cycle 40 horsepower engine??

Still not enough information. We also need the physical size of the hovercraft and how high off the ground you want it to go. Try playing with this calculator for a bit: http://www.olshove.com/HoverHome/hovcalc.html

The author said that the cleanout for the building drain is usually near the stack. I live in a duplex townhouse. Just out of curiosity, I...

Today I took a photograph of the inside of my water meter box because today is one of the rare days that my water meter is not submerged in water.
