How Can Greenhouses Help Combat Food Insecurity in Disadvantaged Regions?

AI Thread Summary
Greenhouses can play a significant role in addressing food insecurity in disadvantaged regions by improving crop yields and controlling environmental factors. Research indicates that innovative techniques, such as using gravel layers and plastic tenting, can enhance moisture retention and support growth in arid areas. However, the high costs of materials make greenhouses financially unfeasible in many locations, and they are often dismantled or looted after projects conclude. Engaging with individuals who have experience in programs like the US Peace Corps may provide valuable insights for research. Overall, while greenhouses offer potential benefits, practical challenges must be addressed to maximize their impact on food security.

Hi all.

I am doing a secondary research assignment about greenhouse. My research topic is to use greenhouses to alleviate the severity of food insecurity in disadvantaged regions. I did some research using google scholar and found nothing useful but the paper below.

Could anyone tell me how I should work on this 3-page research assignment and what the good ways are in terms of finding useful resources?

Any input will be appreciated.

Israel has an active research program into improving crop yields in arid areas using genetics, with gravel layers, and plastic tenting to retain soil moisture (shading and limiting low night temperatures).

Because of materials costs greenhouses are not financially practical in many areas. Plus the greenhouses are torn down or are pillaged for scarce building supplies once the project is over. Find somebody with US Peace Corps experience to give you some help.

Fish and other aquatic organisms are often grown in greenhouses.
The enclosure of the greenhouse allows better control of possible pathogens than would be available on open ponds.

Thread 'Confusion regarding a chemical kinetics problem'
TL;DR Summary: cannot find out error in solution proposed. [![question with rate laws][1]][1] Now the rate law for the reaction (i.e reaction rate) can be written as: $$ R= k[N_2O_5] $$ my main question is, WHAT is this reaction equal to? what I mean here is, whether $$k[N_2O_5]= -d[N_2O_5]/dt$$ or is it $$k[N_2O_5]= -1/2 \frac{d}{dt} [N_2O_5] $$ ? The latter seems to be more apt, as the reaction rate must be -1/2 (disappearance rate of N2O5), which adheres to the stoichiometry of the...
I don't get how to argue it. i can prove: evolution is the ability to adapt, whether it's progression or regression from some point of view, so if evolution is not constant then animal generations couldn`t stay alive for a big amount of time because when climate is changing this generations die. but they dont. so evolution is constant. but its not an argument, right? how to fing arguments when i only prove it.. analytically, i guess it called that (this is indirectly related to biology, im...
