How Can I Control Light Brightness Automatically?

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around methods for automatically controlling light brightness, exploring potential solutions and technologies involved in the process. Participants touch on manual dimming techniques and seek to understand automated alternatives.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about how to automatically control light brightness, mentioning manual dimmers as a known method.
  • Another participant suggests using a light sensor to detect ambient light levels and adjust brightness accordingly.
  • A participant proposes the use of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) in conjunction with a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) as a potential solution.
  • There is agreement that using PWM with an LDR is a typical approach to achieve automatic brightness control.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the use of light sensors and PWM with LDRs as viable methods for automatic brightness control, though no consensus on other potential solutions is reached.

Contextual Notes

The discussion does not delve into specific implementations or the limitations of the proposed methods, leaving some assumptions and technical details unaddressed.

hello everyone...
i just want to know how to control the light brightness for automatically...
what i know...in manual we can use a dimmer to control the light brightness..(correct me if i wrong)...
if anyone can help me to solve this problem?..

Welcome to the PF.

What do you want to use to automatically control the brightness? You can use a light sensor to sense the ambient light level, and adjust your light based on that, for example...

its like seem to use PWM with LDR right?
or there have another solution that might be use...?

Yes, exactly. That would be a typical solution.
