How did you find PF?

Hi there,

I used to be a really enthousiastic amateur physicist, but kind of got side-tracked by the demands of the modern world
and (especially) my job (unix engineer, programmer).

I would really like to further my understanding of physics, (especcially everything GUT related), and read what other people are thinking, since this will force me as well to dive into those subjects and rekindle learning quests.

In short: i hope to be stimulated to learn and help others in the process.

Greetings from Amsterdam,

@anorlunda: Thanks for the feedback!

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
