The discussion centers on the forum's status system, specifically how members achieve different status levels like radio wave and microwave. It is clarified that these statuses are linked to post counts, with radio wave status activated after reaching 100 posts. The frequency of status changes is related to the number of posts made, although the exact intervals are not clearly defined. Hello

Though I am there for a about an year in PF I still don’t know what is the status in the profile about and how do you become radio wave, micro wave, Gamma waves etc.
May be someone might have mentioned it before but if some doesn’t mind can you please tell me what it is about?
I hope some experienced member would help me.

I think it goes to Radio Wave after you have 100 posts, then the wave frequency increases for every 100 or so posts.
I know it has to do with post count, but not sure what interval it changes at.

Some things are just better left a mystery : )

and why is staii's status idiot?

i think i know the secret.....

First the status system only gets activated only after you cross 100 posts. then Your rate of posts ie per day how many post is compared with electromagnetic spectrum.

i think i am correct.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
