B How Does Time Travel Influence Aging?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the hypothetical implications of time travel on aging, specifically whether a person would age four years after living in the past for that duration before returning to their original time. Participants note that time travel is often considered a forbidden topic in serious science forums due to its speculative nature. While some scientists have explored time travel concepts, the lack of empirical data makes definitive answers impossible. The conversation emphasizes that without observable evidence, any claims about time travel and aging remain purely theoretical. Ultimately, the thread concludes with a note that the topic is not suitable for further discussion in the forum.

Let's assume time travel is possible and we are travelling. We jumped to a TARDIS sort of machine in August 26, 2017 and go to August 26, 2000 then lived there for 4 years until August 26, 2004. So when we come back to August 26, 2017 would we be 4 years older or be the same age we were before travelling?

I know it is kind of a lame question but that'd be amazing if you answered this.Thank you already [emoji68]‍[emoji436][emoji177]

I believe time travel is one of the forbidden topics here in our science forums. You might get some answers if you posted it in our sci-fi and fantasy forum.

Although some kind of time travel mechanisms are frequently discussed on popular science platforms or tv-shows, and even some serious scientists like Hawking contributed here, it is in the end not answerable. "If <not observed> Then <anything>" is a pattern which fails to have a basis, and so <anything> could be literally anything and nobody could put evidence on any point of view. That's why we don't discuss it - the lack of data and models.

I think it's easist first to watch a short vidio clip I find these videos very relaxing to watch .. I got to thinking is this being done in the most efficient way? The sand has to be suspended in the water to move it to the outlet ... The faster the water , the more turbulance and the sand stays suspended, so it seems to me the rule of thumb is the hose be aimed towards the outlet at all times .. Many times the workers hit the sand directly which will greatly reduce the water...
