How Is a Power Recliner Wired for Multiple Functions?

AI Thread Summary
Power recliners operate through a circuit with three states: raising the footrest, lowering it, and an off position. The switch functions as a two-pole, three-position crossover switch, which reverses polarity to control the motor's direction. The center position of the switch is off, while the momentary on positions activate the motor for raising or lowering. Diagrams illustrating this wiring have been shared to clarify the setup. Understanding this mechanism is essential for troubleshooting and repairs.

As far as I can tell there are three circuit states that control the recliner foot rest, raise it, lower it, and off. How is this wired, how does the switch function etc...? I assume the up and down switch flip the polarity across the motor, but that is all I can seem to reason out...

A cross-over switch.
A two pole switch, with three positions. (momentary on), off, (momentary on).
Centre is off. Cross-connect the two switches to reverse the polarity and direction.

We had that not so long ago, as I recall....

Oh, here it is o0)

I'm sure I blew it off thinking "When am I going to need that"!

I already made the diagrams to be sure I understand, but I see they match the other thread.

Thread 'Weird near-field phenomenon I get in my EM simulation'
I recently made a basic simulation of wire antennas and I am not sure if the near field in my simulation is modeled correctly. One of the things that worry me is the fact that sometimes I see in my simulation "movements" in the near field that seems to be faster than the speed of wave propagation I defined (the speed of light in the simulation). Specifically I see "nodes" of low amplitude in the E field that are quickly "emitted" from the antenna and then slow down as they approach the far...
Hello dear reader, a brief introduction: Some 4 years ago someone started developing health related issues, apparently due to exposure to RF & ELF related frequencies and/or fields (Magnetic). This is currently becoming known as EHS. (Electromagnetic hypersensitivity is a claimed sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, to which adverse symptoms are attributed.) She experiences a deep burning sensation throughout her entire body, leaving her in pain and exhausted after a pulse has occurred...
