AI Thread Summary
Maglev technology operates on the principle of magnetic repulsion, allowing objects to levitate without contact. The discussion references a YouTube video demonstrating how a pencil can be suspended in air using magnets, highlighting the practical application of this concept. The user seeks clarification on how to maintain the stability of the magnets used in such setups. Despite expressing enthusiasm for the project, there is disappointment over the lack of responses to the inquiry. Understanding the mechanics of magnetic levitation is essential for successful implementation in projects.

i was searching for maglev on internet for my school science projects and i found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrRG38WpkTQ" on youtube which i thought i was actually looking for it.
i know that maglev is based on repulsion of poles but how to keep our magnet to construct that type of thing which is shown i this video. in this video the girl suspends the pencil in air which is attached with two magnets and it is suspended by four magnet which she kept at bottom. if you'll watch that video it will help you to understand what i am trying to say.

thanks in advance for replying:smile:

Thread 'Motional EMF in Faraday disc, co-rotating magnet axial mean flux'
So here is the motional EMF formula. Now I understand the standard Faraday paradox that an axis symmetric field source (like a speaker motor ring magnet) has a magnetic field that is frame invariant under rotation around axis of symmetry. The field is static whether you rotate the magnet or not. So far so good. What puzzles me is this , there is a term average magnetic flux or "azimuthal mean" , this term describes the average magnetic field through the area swept by the rotating Faraday...
