How do you get photos to become entangled? And is this even possible, or just a theory?
The discussion centers on the mechanisms of photon entanglement, particularly through the process of Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC). Participants explore the theoretical and experimental aspects of entanglement, including its implications and the CHSH inequality.
There is no clear consensus on the understanding of photon entanglement and the implications of the CHSH inequality. While some participants provide explanations and affirm the existence of entanglement, others express confusion and seek further clarification.
Participants express varying levels of understanding regarding the technical details of SPDC and the CHSH inequality, indicating that further elaboration may be necessary for complete comprehension.

The photons are entangled under certain conditions. You can check wikipedia about this.
There have been lot of experiments to violate Bell/CHSH inequality starting from the one by Alain Aspect. All of these prove the presence of entanglement by separating the particles over larger and larger distance. So it is not just a theory (at least for most of the scientific community although there are still some who doubt it).
