SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on using CST Design Studio to analyze data errors in electrical systems due to electromagnetic interference (EMI). The user seeks guidance on simulating data transmission through cables while adhering to standards such as EN 61000-4-3 and EN 61000-4-6 for RF noise immunity testing. Participants recommend sharing specific system details, including transmitter, receiver, and cabling specifications, to facilitate accurate simulations. Additionally, a relevant e-seminar on the CST website is suggested for further insights.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of CST Design Studio functionalities
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic interference (EMI) concepts
  • Knowledge of EN 61000-4-3 and EN 61000-4-6 standards
  • Basic principles of data transmission in electrical systems
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore CST Design Studio's simulation capabilities for EMI analysis
  • Review the EN 61000-4-3 and EN 61000-4-6 standards in detail
  • Investigate best practices for specifying transmitter and receiver parameters
  • Attend the e-seminar on aerospace EMC simulation available on the CST website

Hi..
I want to know how can we specify the data(electrical) passing through cable that we are designing in CST design studio to test the effect of EMI on the data passing?

Are you basically wanting to simulate testing that you might do per EN 61000-4-3 (radiated) and EN 61000-4-6 (conducted) RF noise immunity testing? Can you post a copy of the system you want to simulate, including specifications on your transmitter, receiver and cabling?

Also, have a look at this e-seminar at the CST website (under the "Solutions" section):
