I got a question about dark energy

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on a project about dark energy, specifically using Type Ia supernova data to analyze the universe's expansion. The user plans to calculate luminosity and modify the Friedmann equation to find the cosmological constant. Concerns are raised about the applicability of supernova data for this purpose. The user also considers deriving formulas from the relevant chapter for their homework problem. Suggestions and specific questions are welcomed for further guidance.

Hey
I have a project about dark energy. Part of it is that I need to make some kind of homework problem with this topic. The article talked about using 1a supernova data to see the expansion of the universe. I was I would first calculate the luminosity or whatever they did. Than using that data with the modify the Friedmann equation, finding the cosmological constant. I don't think the supernova data would fit. I was skimming over the chapter and saw a lot of formulas so maybe i can derive some of the formulas or somthing. Well any advise or suggestions let me know thanks.

Now that they have shared their findings with the larger community someone else might find an explanation - or maybe it was actually made by life.
TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe. Is there any sense in this or is blissful ignorance better? In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation.
