I just bought *another* Indian cookbook today (), really marvelous recipes. Ofcourse I am so smart to enthousiastically tell people how incredible those recipes are, so now I am stuck with having to cook a buffet for a birthday party

A lot of people like French or Italian cooking, but those are actually my least favorites..

Did you see the 9 reviews on the cookbook? All 5 out of 5 stars!
Ain't it great to make a good impulsive buy?

Having grown up in Texas, Mexican is at the top of my favorites.

I love to cook and I collect cookbooks. I especially love cookbooks from the 1600-1800's. They tie in with my love of history, but those people ate some NASTY stuff! One early American cookbook I have goes on to explain that the most honored guests shoud get the cow eyeballs and the teeth (so they can suck the jelly out). Eeeewwwwww!

What's a quisine?

*runs & hides*

I must say, I couldn't live without American, Italian, and Mexican cuisine; my favorite foods are hamburgers, pizza, and tacos. Spaghetti and Chicken Parmesagn are up there too

good ol' fish n chips from the local chippie eh, Andy?

No roast beef & yorkshire pudding? Steak & Kidney pie? My grandmother on my father's side was from England and she would cook these all the time.

I think my favorite cuisine at the moment (I have phases) is Thai.

Everything mentioned so far is my favorite.
And hummus.

SMOOTHIES! I just got hooked on raspberry peach smoothies at Smoothie King a couple of weeks ago. Why aren't they open 24 hours? I NEED a smoothie! (I've been alone WAY too long...)

Got a blender? Safeway is open 24 hours...
edit: I've been hooked on the little nasties for years now. I love Thanksgiving, because eggnog smoothies are killer.

Why are you letting your dog cook in the first place?
I shall send you a lovely chinese cook book, if you like.

Alright, now I'm wiping up my laptop and praying it doesn't die.

Hey, I thought you were taking the "dog of evil"?

I was told she'll get past this stage in 6-7 years and then she'll be a great dog. Yeah, but I won't have a house left. I built her a $1,500 dog palace with two windows (cross ventillation) and a SKYLIGHT. She won't stay there. I'm thinking of adding central heat/air & wall to wall carpeting, cable tv, maybe then...?

I once ordered fish 'n chips:
I was expecting baked potatoes with nice spices and a fish filet with a good sause.. you get potatoes and fish that were just fried in oil, who eats that??

  • #21
Huh? Whats wrong with that? A nice piece of battered cod served with a suitable helping of chips, all wrapped up nicley in a newspaper. What more could a person want?

The serving size didn't help, I could've fed a whole house of orphans..

The only thing that I was thinking to myself was: these people are deranged, who serves something like this? Then I started helping myself to the bean dish of my friend :O

  • #24
The serving size was too much? i always finish all of mine. Dont have any beens mind you, or mushy pea's , disgusting!

Well, there is something about a heaping dish consisting of deep fried fatty food, that is not so appealing..

Have you ever tried deep-fried ice cream? It's a truly YUMMY Mexican dessert. They deep-fry and RE-fry all kinds of things. I often wondered about the 'meat' content in tacos off of Rico's Taco Truck. Oooo... and then there's FISH TACOS! You'll find the BEST ones at the northern tip of Kauai off of this truck:

...waiting for Greg to turn on my picture...
hmm... just thought of something. I'll be back.

edit: That was fast! Thanx, Greg! Now, please don't go into a big depression over this, but I won't be needing your services anymore. I have my own site to upload my pix to and link, etc. It was fun while it lasted... You were the best, Baby.

From Dictionary.com

Food; fare.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[French, from Old French, from Vulgar Latin *cocna, variant of Latin coquna, kitchen, cookery, from coquere, to cook. See pekw- in Indo-European Roots.]
