What are the fundamental building blocks of the universe?

In summary, the fundamental building blocks of the universe are particles and forces. Particles make up all matter and come in two main types: fermions (such as protons and electrons) and bosons (such as photons and gluons). These particles interact through forces, including gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear forces. These building blocks, along with the laws of physics, govern the behavior and structure of the universe.

I've always been interested in things very very small, and things very very big, so I thought this would be the perfect place to enhance my knowledge base. In particular, material sciences, quantum physics, and cosmology. My biggest problem here will be how to properly phrase my questions as to not look stupid!
