AI Thread Summary
The discussion explores the possibility that dark matter could be a neutral force that interacts with both matter and antimatter without resulting in annihilation. Participants note that current understanding in physics does not identify any interactions between dark matter and ordinary matter, aside from elastic scattering. The concept suggests that dark matter might play a unique role in the universe's interactions. The question raises intriguing implications for the nature of dark matter and its potential interactions. Overall, the idea remains speculative, as empirical evidence is lacking.

is it possible dark matter is a type of matter that can interact with matter and antimatter without having annihilation?

kind of like the neutral force of the universe.

i know its kind of a weird question but what do you all think?

At the present time physicists do not know of any interactions (except elastic scattering) between dark matter and ordinary matter (or antimatter).

Now that they have shared their findings with the larger community someone else might find an explanation - or maybe it was actually made by life.
TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe. Is there any sense in this or is blissful ignorance better? In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation.
