AI Thread Summary
To effectively learn physics, a solid understanding of mathematics is essential, particularly geometry and trigonometry. While geometry is important, trigonometry is emphasized as more crucial for grasping basic physics concepts and preparing for calculus. It is recommended to explore online resources and tutorials for both subjects to build a strong foundation. For those seeking geometry materials, online books and resources are available, and checking links provided in educational articles, such as Wikipedia, can lead to valuable learning materials. It's important to approach the learning process step by step, starting from foundational math before advancing to more complex physics topics.

I'm trying to leanr physics but i obviously need to know math. I already know algebra and I thought that I should learn geometry( it is my next year math class but i don't want to wait that long)and I want to know if there are any good books online that I could learn it and be able to do more advanced physics.

IMO, trigonometry is more important to learn for physics than geometry. Maybe read tutorials on both if you can -- that will give you a better background for learning non-calculus-based physics.

Learning trig (which you'll need some geometry to understand) is probably most important for basic physics and calculus after that (if you havn't taken a second-year algebra couse, that too). It seems like you are trying to move a bit too fast into undergrad-level physics, because you say "advanced physics". Don't be discouraged from learning math on your own but you'll have to start at the bottom like everyone else.

So are there any online books I could download for geometry?

Did you follow the links at the bottom of the wikipedia pages I linked above?

Bit Britain-specific but I was wondering, what's the best path to take for A-Levels out of the following (I know Y10 seems a bit early to be thinking about A-levels, but my choice will impact what I do this year/ in y11) I (almost) definitely want to do physics at University - so keep that in mind... The subjects that I'm almost definitely going to take are Maths, Further Maths and Physics, and I'm taking a fast track programme which means that I'll be taking AS computer science at the end...
After a year of thought, I decided to adjust my ratio for applying the US/EU(+UK) schools. I mostly focused on the US schools before, but things are getting complex and I found out that Europe is also a good place to study. I found some institutes that have professors with similar interests. But gaining the information is much harder than US schools (like you have to contact professors in advance etc). For your information, I have B.S. in engineering (low GPA: 3.2/4.0) in Asia - one SCI...
I graduated with a BSc in Physics in 2020. Since there were limited opportunities in my country (mostly teaching), I decided to improve my programming skills and began working in IT, first as a software engineer and later as a quality assurance engineer, where I’ve now spent about 3 years. While this career path has provided financial stability, I’ve realized that my excitement and passion aren’t really there, unlike what I felt when studying or doing research in physics. Working in IT...
