AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the concept of learning from mistakes, both individually and collectively as a society. It highlights that significant mistakes often yield crucial lessons, prompting a reflection on current societal norms. The conversation questions what practices, deemed acceptable by governments or society, may actually be wrong. Slavery is cited as a historical example of a practice that was once considered right but is now universally condemned. The dialogue extends to contemporary issues, such as the legality of tobacco, suggesting that while it is sanctioned by governments, its health implications raise ethical concerns about its acceptance. The overarching theme emphasizes the need for critical examination of societal values and practices that may be misguided.

We all learn from our mistakes or observing others with their mistakes. Seems like the more pain or bigger mistakes usually include more important lessons we learn from those mistakes.
So i wonder if we are making a mistake as human beings rather then just indivisually.

What are doing that's right but should be wrong?
Like slavery, which was right to the government at one time and should have been wrong.

Slavery has been going on for thousands of years. Not for the government but for personal gain.

Well right now we pretty much live in a world that is governed. Where people vote on who leads us. They pretty much base their laws on what majority agrees as right.
I was using slavery as an example. But one thing i feel that is right by the government and should be wrong is tobacco.

Every day we learn new things. Sometimes it's just a small fact or realization. No matter how trivial or random, let's start recording our daily lessons. Please start off with "Today I learned". Keep commentary to a minimum and just LIKE posts. I'll start! Today I learned that you clean up a white hat by spraying some cleaner with bleach on it (rinse before putting it back on your head!)
