I am doing a BSEE and going power side. I am also applying for scholarships and bursaries, and would like to be able to talk specifically about power factors. More than this though, I want to understand it. Most of what I've found so far is very specialized and technical.
What good resources are out there for introducing myself to the concept of power factor as it relates to power engineering and the electricity grid?
In some upcoming bursary and scholarship applications I'd also like to be able to talk about some specifics. Such as what kind of capacitors are used (and the reasons for why) to improve the power factor on large industrial electric motors, etc.
