Linearize around equilibrium

  1. Feb 1, 2009 #1
    Hello!
I have got three exercises http://images46.fotosik.pl/55/068c355872bdd5a9.jpg . I was working on second and third and I understand them more or less. Unfortunately I don't know at all how to solve first exercise. I was looking for some materials which may help me to solve it and I found this http://images25.fotosik.pl/319/58cc3f0a30fe6d27.jpg . First thing - I don't know whether "linearize around equilibrium" and "derive state space model" are the same tasks. May you give me any hint how to solve this exercise?
    Thanks in advance

    3. The attempt at a solution
First of all I am looking for helpful materials to solve this exercise. I found http://images25.fotosik.pl/319/58cc3f0a30fe6d27.jpg .
